Our Ministries
First Presbyterian Church Bonham believes that church is not the building, it's our people. Ours is a diverse congregation with many gifts we like to share.
Children's Ministry
Our children’s ministry may be small, but it is small and mighty! We love creating a welcoming place where children can learn about God, grow in faith, and build friendships along the way.
We offer Sunday School classes for Kindergarten–2nd grade and 3rd–5th grade, giving children opportunities to explore Scripture and grow in their understanding of God’s love.
Our nursery is available during both worship services and also offers a Sunday School class for our youngest children, providing a safe and nurturing environment for them to learn, play, and grow.
We believe every child has a special place in our church family!

Youth Ministry
At First Presbyterian Church of Bonham, our youth ministry is an active and welcoming place where young people can grow in faith, build friendships, have fun, and discover what it means to be part of a church family.
We offer Sunday School classes for 6th–8th graders and 9th–12th graders, both meeting in our Youth House. The Youth House is a favorite gathering place, featuring a pool table, ping-pong table, video games, and plenty of space to relax and connect.
On Wednesdays, youth gather for COW (Church on Wednesday) at 6:30 p.m. for dinner, games, fellowship, and opportunities to grow together in faith.
Whether they’re studying Scripture, sharing a meal, playing a game, or simply spending time together, there’s always a place for our youth to belong!

Adult Ministry
There are many ways to connect, grow in faith, serve others, and build meaningful relationships at First Presbyterian Church of Bonham. Our adult ministries offer opportunities for learning, fellowship, prayer, study, and service for all ages and stages of life.
Sunday School Classes
Join us Sunday mornings for one of our three adult Sunday School classes. The Giddy-Up Gang follows the weekly lectionary readings, providing an opportunity to explore Scripture and connect it to our lives and faith. The Gardeners Class uses engaging videos as a starting point for thoughtful discussion, conversation, and spiritual growth. Our Young Adult Class also uses video-based studies to spark meaningful discussion, encourage fellowship, and explore faith in the context of everyday life.
Monthly Bible Study
Our Bible Study group meets on the first Sunday evening of each month at 6:00 p.m. at various locations. Each gathering offers a relaxed setting to dig deeper into Scripture, share in conversation, and enjoy fellowship together.
Helping Hands
Helping Hands meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. This hands-on ministry creates prayer shawls and quilts for graduating seniors, sharing love, encouragement, and prayers with others through the gift of handmade creations. No special experience is needed—just a willingness to help!
Presbyterian Women
Presbyterian Women meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Following a brief business meeting, the group gathers for Bible study using the Horizons curriculum. It is a wonderful opportunity for women to grow in faith, fellowship, and service together.
Whether you enjoy studying Scripture, sharing in conversation, creating with your hands, or simply spending time with others, there is a place for you in our adult ministries.

One of our most visible outreach efforts is The Blessing Box, a free food pantry available to anyone in the community. Neighbors are welcome to take what they need or contribute items to help keep the Blessing Box stocked and available to others.
Each year, we are also honored to host The Spirit of Giving, a special community outreach event that brings people together and has become a much-appreciated tradition in Bonham.
Our Missions Committee also partners with and supports numerous local organizations, giving their time, talents, and resources to make a difference. These include Kool Lunches, Meals on Wheels, The Open Arms Shelter, Relay For Life, The Goodland Academy, the Fannin Health Clinic, and many others.
Through these ministries and partnerships, we strive to be a source of compassion, hope, and practical support—serving our neighbors and putting our faith into action.
